GLP-1 Medication Dose

Before drawing your medication, please STOP and confirm:

Dose (mg) matches your prescription.

Liquid concentration (mg/ml) is correct.

Units to draw in syringe are accurate.

Semaglutide

  • Week 1-4: 0.25 mg weekly
  • Week 5-8: 0.5 mg weekly
  • Week 9-12: 1 mg weekly
  • Week 13-16: 1.7 mg weekly (if needed)
  • Week 17 onwards: 2.4 mg weekly (maintenance dose)

 

Tirzepatide

  • Week 1-4: 2.5 mg weekly (starting dose)
  • Week 5 onwards: 5 mg weekly
  • Increase by 2.5 mg increments every 4 weeks if needed
  • Maximum dose: 15 mg weekly

Your healthcare provider will adjust your dose based on your individual response and tolerability. It’s important to follow their instructions carefully.

 

Important Notes for GLP-1 Medication Use

  • Always follow your healthcare provider’s instructions (usually on the label of the bag)
  • If you have multiple bags, make sure to look at which bag to use based on your prescription week
  • Administer subcutaneously in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm
  • Rotate injection sites to prevent lipodystrophy
  • Choose a consistent day of the week for injections
  • Store medication properly according to manufacturer instructions
  • Vials as delivered may not be full all the way to the top, the pharmacy ships only the right amount of medication based on your prescription
